CoinDesk reported that stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Financial has acquired Hashnote, the issuer of US Yield Coin (USYC) - a tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) fund. In a statement on January 21st, Circle stated that this transaction “will make USYC a form of income collateral preferred by encryption exchanges, custodians, and major brokers.” According to data provider RWA.xyz, Hashnote’s USDY is the largest tokenization currency fund by market value, with a total Locked Position Value (TVL) of approximately $1.25 billion. As part of the transaction, the stablecoin issuer has also established a partnership with DRW - one of the world’s largest institutional crypto currency traders. The company stated that “[DRW] will expand its institutional liquidity and settlement capabilities in USDC and USYC” to facilitate “more efficient and seamless collateral management.” The announcement noted that “Circle plans to fully integrate USYC with USDC, providing seamless access between tokenization currency market funds (TMMF) collateral and USDC.”
