Iran Seeks to Impose Tolls on Vessels Transiting Through the Strait of Hormuz

Golden Finance reports that on March 26th, local time, the Chairman of Iran’s Islamic Parliament Civil Committee stated, “We are seeking a bill that can legally uphold Iran’s sovereignty, jurisdiction, and regulation over the Strait of Hormuz, while also generating revenue for the country through tolls.” It is understood that the draft bill has been prepared but has not yet reached the stage of a complete plan. It will be submitted to the Parliamentary Research Center next week for refinement with the involvement of legal teams, and after the parliamentary session, the plan will be submitted and followed up. According to the bill, Iran will impose tolls on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. (CCTV)
